Stage 1. We draw two large ovals on the whole sheet of paper. These ovals intersect with each other. We will have two potato tubers.
Stage 2. We outline the uneven edges of potato tubers. Along the lines of the ovals, we make an irregular border.
Stage 3. There are always so-called eyes on the potato. These are small indentations, dents. We show here these eyes with little transverse dashes, arches.
Step 4. Now draw additional lines around the eyes. They will give our tubers great naturalness.
Step 5. We remove all unnecessary helper lines, leaving only the necessary outlines of our potatoes.
Step 6. Color the potatoes brown, showing their eyes black and highlighting highlights and shadows on the tubers. The result was very natural and naturally drawn tubers of the popular culture – potatoes.

Let’s start with one large potato – round, and asking for a pan. From it, you can make anything – boil, fry, make chips. So let’s figure out how to draw potatoes with a pencil.
First, draw a general shape – a large elongated oval. The contour should be neat, not torn.
Let’s draw a contour with a soft pencil – so the outlines will look more distinct. Still, it is necessary to outline small arcs – the so-called “eyes” of potatoes (officially they are called accessory kidneys).
Then make the shadows – natural and falling. Hatch very carefully. The natural shadow should be very light, the falling one – a little darker.

Realistic Potato – Tackling Paints
If you want to draw potatoes so that they look “like real,” it’s best to choose watercolours for this purpose – these amazingly airy, bright colours can work wonders even in the hands of a novice artist. It is with them that it is easiest to learn how to draw potatoes with paints.
Although we draw with paints, we cannot do without a pencil sketch. You should lightly sketch the general shape of the potato. In our country, it will be rounded on one side and elongated on the other. Work with a pencil very quickly, accurately; you do not need to press on the stylus. If something goes wrong, you can erase the outline and draw again.
Now add the small dots and outlines of the future falling shadow. These dots can be seen partly on young potatoes, while its skin is still quite thin.
Let’s start working with colour. Shades of yellow will form a volume: towards the center, the potato should be lighter, and at the edges – brighter. So the picture will look very lively, naturally.
Now the shadows. The natural darkness of the potato and dots on the skin will be a warm brown hue. But the falling shadow is darker and colder. Try not to go beyond the outline so that the pattern looks neat. If such a mistake does occur, gently wipe the spot with a brush dipped in water.
After that, the drawing can be considered complete.
