How to draw a tomato with a pencil in 3 options awakens this issue in this article! Tomato is the most common vegetable in the whole world. Previously, this beautiful and healthy tomato was considered poisonous, although, you should be careful with its stems, and not with the fruits. Drawing a tomato is an exciting and fascinating activity! Today it is difficult to imagine a kitchen without products with it, and a garden without this plant.
Over a long period of cultivation, many varieties have appeared that differ in colour, taste and size, and also under the conditions necessary for agriculture.
The proposed technique explains how to draw the most ordinary tomato. In this lesson, we will look at how to draw a tomato in the simplest way available for adults and children. Although many other varieties are different in shape, we will try to draw the most familiar type of tomato, oval and red.
Tomato drawing for kid (Option 1)
The shape of the fetus most often resembles a horizontal oval.
In the center of the full part, there is a small depression – the place of attachment to the stem. Usually, a sepal remains in the same place during harvesting. We mark it, as shown in the figure below.
Next, we add volume to the sepals, making the marking lines thicker. Add also the stalk: it looks like a small twig of medium thickness emanating from the center of the sepal.
Since ripe tomato has a smooth and glossy surface, glare can be marked out to give a more similar look to the finished picture.
First, marked glare is painted over: the lower shadow is darker red, the overhead light is light. In the end, fill the whole tomato with saturated and bright red colour, the stalk and sepals with green.
How to draw a realistic tomato (Option 2)
Let’s look at how to draw a tomato in stages.
We draw a circle into which we will fit the tomato. It’s not at all necessary to try to draw it correctly even – we will erase these auxiliary lines anyway.
We draw the base of the tomato legs, with which it is attached to the branch.
From the legs on the tomato, thickenings diverge – we draw them. The back wall of the tomato is made more rounded to show its shape.
From the legs of the tomato, we draw arrow leaves diverging in different directions.
We draw glare on the tomato, darken the leg and leaves.
Step by step drawing of tomato in pencil is ready!
Tomato pencil drawing (Option 3)
The foundation
We start the drawing with the base, which we depict as an oval, slightly elongated horizontally.
Button
Under the oval, draw a curved line that resembles a small part of a circle so that the drawing looks like an acorn.
Adjustment
Adjust the bottom, making it more rounded.
Extra details
Once everything is drawn correctly, erase the inside of the oval. Also, delete the lines of the bottom that are not needed.
Leaves
On top of the tomato draw leaves. They are medium in length but thin.
Leaves If inside the leaves there are lines of tomato, we erase them.
Stem
From the center of the leaves, we draw a small curved stem.

StemWipe unnecessary lines that are inside the stalk.

Compound
We connect the stem lines from above and below by short curved lines.
Volume
We give volume to the tomato with two curved lines that start from the bottom and end near the leaves.

Side
We correct the upper right side; we make it more rounded.

Side Erase the unnecessary line so that only the drawing remains.

Colourize
Colour the tomato in bright red and make the leaves green.
