How to draw a goat in different ways will be told in this article! Goats and sheep were among the first animals domesticated by humans. They were apparently domesticated 8,000-12,000 years ago, in the Late Stone Age (Neolithic), as evidenced by fossil remains and rock carvings found in various parts of Europe, Asia Minor, and Central Asia.
Systematically, goats and sheep are very close to each other – they belong to the spirochaetes (Artiodactyla), the family Bovidae, and the subfamily of goats (Caprinae).
Some scientists even consider goats (Sarga) and rams (Ovis) to be members of the same genus. However, most specialists do not share this point of view. It is not difficult to distinguish a domestic goat from a sheep – at least by the characteristic “goatee” or by the shape of horns. Wild representatives of these two genera are much more diverse, and it is not easy to determine who a “goat” is and who a “sheep” is. Moreover, as it was said, zoologists themselves do not always adhere to a single opinion on this matter. On the other hand, various breeds of domestic goats and sheep are often very different from each other. Goats were probably domesticated somewhat earlier than sheep, as archaeological excavations find either only their bones or the bones of both goats and sheep together.

When discussing the degree of their kinship with one or another wild species, features such as skull structure, horn structure, and the possibility of obtaining fertile offspring as a result of interbreeding are taken into account.
Bezoar or bearded goats (C.aegagrus) are considered the main candidates for wild ancestors of domestic goats. In many manuals, C.hircus and C.aegagrus are even considered synonyms, i.e. names of the same species. Bezoar goats are found in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, and Asia Minor, as well as the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. They got the name “bearded” because of their thick and long “beard”, and bezoars are peculiar foreign bodies (mineralized deposits of food remains), which are sometimes found in their (as well as in other ungulates) stomachs or intestines.
Since these formations were attributed to medicinal properties, wild goats were actively hunted. Now, they are preserved only in inaccessible areas and are included in the lists of threatened species in the International Red Book. Bezoar goats are larger than domestic goats – the height of males at the withers reaches 95 cm. They have a reddish-grey or brownish-yellow colour with a black stripe along the back. The forehead, chest and front side of the neck are brownish-black. The horns of bezoar goats are large, flattened from the sides, forming a semicircle and diverging from the base. In cross-section, they are triangular with a sharp front edge, on which nodes and serrations protrude.

Torso
