How to draw an octopus in 2 variants will be told in this article! Octopuses are unusually intelligent and cautious, and also extremely childlike – but this is only a small part of the range of their virtues. The bad reputation of bloodthirsty killers, capable of dragging to the seabed not the smallest ship, pursued octopuses since the time of Aristotle. And in fact, they are very unusual animals, with well-developed intelligence and a fantastic sense of parenthood.
Naturalists know more than 100 species of octopuses (Octopoda). Their “family” is represented by two suborders: octopuses real (Incirrata) and octopuses deep-sea (Cirrata). Almost all of them do not reach in length and half a meter. Really large animals can be attributed to octopus Dauphlein (total length up to 3 meters, weight – up to 50 kg).
Deep-sea octopuses differ from real octopuses mainly by the presence of one or two pairs of fins, as well as the lack of a “defensive” ink sac. Suction cups on their tentacles are always arranged in a single row, and next to them on both sides are cirri (sensitive antennae). The tentacles themselves are connected by a webbing, which makes the octopus look like an open umbrella. Species of these animals belong to the genus of bipedal cephalopod mollusks that live in the seas and oceans.
They are called cephalopods because their tentacles are located exactly on the head. They are also known as “sea aristocrats”. The reason for this is their blue blood. Such an unusual color is explained by the fact that the red blood cells and plasma instead of hemoglobin contain hemocyanin, in which iron is replaced by copper.
Drawing an octopus is kind of a simple activity, but certain nuances should be known and observed! In addition, nature has provided these “noble” animals with three hearts. The main one, consisting of one ventricle and two atria, nourishes all organs, its frequency of contractions is 30-36 beats per minute. Two others, the so-called “gill hearts”, push blood through the gills. All species of octopus have a fairly large brain, consisting of 14 lobes, covered with a rudimentary cortex of gray cells (“depot” memory) and a reliably protected cartilaginous skull.
From the pharynx to the stomach through the thickness of the brain passes a thin esophagus. Therefore, its stretching is very limited and animals can swallow food only pre-grated to a mushy state with the teeth of the tongue and very small portions. The small mouth of the octopus is located at the convergence of the tentacles, and their horny beak is located in the throat. This beak is so strong that without much difficulty, it pierces fish scales and shell crabs. Eat octopuses and smaller brethren.
This ability has given rise to many legends about huge octopus monsters, whose strength is said to multiply when they eat their kind. But what is surprising is that octopuses can also tear off their tentacles, and not just tear them off, but eat them, and then die. This strange “addiction to self-eating, called autophagy, is still a mystery to zoologists.
