Scientists have established several similarities in the anatomical structure of reptiles and birds. The evolution of representatives of the animal world was long. Many ancient animals became extinct, but their descendants now inhabit the planet. The study of archaeological remains, reconstruction, and analysis of tissues allowed us to identify several alleged ancestors of birds.
First of all, it is Archaeopteryx. Some representatives of the scientific world believe that it was he who was the first bird, as evidenced by the presence of feathers. However, anatomical features are rather similar to Archaeopteryx with reptiles. It was not yet able to fly in the full sense of the word, but most likely jumped from branch to branch.
The first finds in Bavaria revealed the following features of Archaeopteryx:
- Lived about 150 million years ago;
- Was the size of a crow;
- Belongs to the lizard-tailed subclass of the bird class.
- Dromaeosauridae, representatives of the lizardotazoan order
A group of putative ancestors are the dromaeosaurids, representing the lizardotasian order. The family includes several species of dinosaurs with some features of birds. They had feathers and the rudiments of wings. 1981, the first enantiosis was discovered – the feathered ancestors had several similar features. First of all, these are developed wings and the ability to fly.
Drawing birds is an extremely curious activity that contributes to human development! The second popular theory is the origin of birds as an evolution of reptiles. Scales gradually became feathers; in time, the lizards mastered flight and approached the modern appearance. In favor of the version, it says that birds, like reptiles, carry eggs in a hard shell.
Another interesting fact is that the ancestors of all modern birds are waterfowl.
The theory appeared thanks to the discovery of the remains of an ancient feather in China. About a hundred million years ago, these representatives of the animal world inhabited the Earth. They had webbed feet and feathers and developed muscles. They dived for food, but they were not amphibians.
There is no exact version of how birds appeared, but research continues. The most reliable theory is the origin of feathers from reptiles. Modern birds are a separate class in the animal kingdom. They are warm-blooded, and mammals do not belong. A distinctive feature of appearance is the presence of feathers, which are not inherent in other classes.
